This project will replace the existing lighting system in the Route 9D Breakneck Tunnel in the Town of Philipstown in Putnam County and the Town of Fishkill in Dutchess County. The project will also include resurfacing of the travel lanes and shoulders through the tunnel, concrete tunnel lining, and pedestrian improvements as well as shoulder reconstruction and widening. Coordination will be necessary with Central Hudson Gas & Electric to mitigate a transmission line within the existing drainage system.
